Along with film photography, I picked up junk journaling during my travels in Japan! I love combining my photos with little things I’ve collected along the way to preserve memories and create something tangible to look back on.
Junk Jounraling
My first full day in Tokyo! I wanted to spend the day exploring the architecture, wandering through the streets, and taking in the feeling of finally being in Japan.
Japan has stamps at many train stations, so I made sure to collect a few along the way! I also kept this adorable business card shaped like three onigiri (rice balls) as a little souvenir.
After my time in Tokyo, I headed to Osaka to meet up with my friends! It was my first time riding the Shinkansen (bullet train), and I was lucky enough to catch a view of Mt. Fuji from my seat. Thank goodness I grabbed some snacks from the konbini (convenience store) to enjoy along the way!
After hopping off the train in Osaka, I met up with my friends to experience the city’s nightlife! There was so much happening, and we had the best time playing arcade games and, of course, singing karaoke!
After our fun in Osaka, we took a two-hour train ride east to Ise, a small coastal town, for the taiko festival! It was amazing getting to experience local culture and enjoy all the regional food (we were so full afterward). The taiko performers were incredible, and we made so many new friends along the way!
